The Duke University Libraries are administered through anExecutive Group consisting of the University Librarian and thedirectors of administrative services, collection services,information technology services, public services, and specialcollections. An Administrative Council of library department headsserves in an advisory capacity to the Executive Group. The Library Council, whosefaculty and student members are appointed by the Provost, alsoadvises the University Librarian. In addition, the Library Advisory Board,which includes prominent Duke alumni, parents, and friends and isappointed by the President of the University, provides support andcounsel on campus library matters.
The Office of the University Librarian includes the ExecutiveGroup, support staff, and the directors of communications anddevelopment, the university archivist, and the director of theCenter for Instructional Technology.
The administration of the University Libraries works closelywith the staff of the independently administered professional school libraries about to provide comprehensive library services tothe Duke community.
