ILSAG -
The Integrated Library System Advisory Group (ILSAG) is charged to review ILS vendor products, narrow the field of prospective vendors, engage staff and readers widely in the review process, and make a recommendation to Duke University Library Directors on ILS products. The ILSAG will also oversee the implementation process once an ILS has been selected and purchased. EX LIBRIS was eventually the product selected.
Information Services Group -
This group is made up of department heads from Access Services, Reference and Interlibrary Loan, Public Documents and Maps, International & Area Studies, Collection Development, Rubenstein Library Research Services and two staff members from these departments rotate every two years. Formerly called Information Services Quality Circle (ISQC).

Internal Operations Quality Circle (IOQC) -
This quality circle consisted of Acquisitions/Serials, Cataloging, and Collection Development when the library was in the CI structure. Acquisitions/Serials and Cataloging are now Technical Services.
International & Area Studies Department -
The International Area Studies Department consists of Subject Librarians who have collection development responsibilities for East Asia, South Asia, Latin America, Spain, Portugal, Africa, Western Europe, the Middle East, Russia, the former Soviet Union, and Eastern Europe. Other Subject Librarians who have collection responsibilities for other world areas or interdisciplinary fields participate in IAS meetings and other activities.

ISS -
The Department of Information Systems Support serves as the computer technology/network support center for the staff of the Perkins Library System.
ISSN -
International Standard Serial Number. A unique 8-digit number that is assigned to each serial publication by national ISSN centers.
