Library Human Resources

What we do

  • Plan, develop, administer and evaluate responsive and innovative human resources programs for all levels of library staffand student workers of the Duke University Libraries in coordination with Duke Human Resources. These programs include recruitment and employment, new employee orientation, employee relations, affirmative action, performance management, personnel records management and staff training and development.
  • Promote and support library efforts to achieve excellence through cultural diversity. Duke University Libraries actively encourages applications and nominations of women, persons of color, applicants with disabilities, and members of other underrepresented groups.
  • Oversee the review processes for promotion and continuing appointment of librarians.
  • Maintain and update all the necessary personnel and payroll records in compliance with Federal and State regulations and in support of an effective human resources operation.
