Information Systems Support

About ISS

The Department of Information Systems Support (ISS) serves as the computer technology/network support center for the staff of the Perkins Library System. ISS manages and provides technical support for centrally administered services such as the Ex Libris suite of software, including Aleph (Cataloging, E-Reserves, Circulation), WebOPAC, MetaLib, SFX and Lotus Notes administration.

ISS is responsible for the upgrade and maintenance of both hardware and software for the Perkins Library System which includes seven (7) branches and 600+ workstations. ISS offers technical training, for Library staff, in the Microsoft Office Products and Lotus Notes email.

Additionally, ISS works with the Office of Information Technology to provide excellent technical/network support services for all the patrons of the Perkins Library System including its affiliated branches.

Systems Administration.
Provides support and administration for networked resources.
Integrated Library Systems (ILS) Support.
Provides support for software and systems related to circulation, acquisitions, cataloging, etc.
Desktop Support.
Provides on-site and/or virtual service for networked computer users in the Perkins Library System.
Application Development.
Provides support for web based applications.

Digital Projects
Provides specialized consultation on library projects involving new technologies.
Center for Instructional Technology
The Center for Instructional Technology helps faculty find innovative ways to use technology to achieve their teaching goals.
Digital Production Center
The DPC provides electronic preservation and digitization of selected library resources.
