Information Technology Services (ITS) has seven departments: within our technical services operation we have Acquisitions, Electronic Resources & Serials Management, and Cataloging & Metadata Services; within our data and computing operation we have Digital Projects & Production, Data & GIS, Institutional Repository Services, and Core Services. I lead this organization along with the department heads listed below and with all the ITS staff (a full listing of our staff is available in our organizational chart):
Our mission is to ensure the Duke community can find, access, and interact with information easily and transparently. We provide systems, tools, and technology services to encourage the use of information and the creation of knowledge in suppport of the Libraries' and Duke University's missions. Our vision for our organization is to provide thought leadership and operational excellence in three areas: technical services, information discovery, and information delivery. Our strategy for achieving this vision over the next three years is to become deft at managing service changes: we will innovate in areas of strategic advantage, transition to commodity service providers when efficient to do so, and will evolve our user support in harmony with community change.
