LibQUAL+

LibQUAL+™ is a research and development project undertaken by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) in collaboration with Texas A&M University. The project is defining and measuring library service quality across institutions and creating useful quality assessment tools for libraries. The goals of the LibQUAL+™ project are:

  • to develop web-based tools for assessing library service quality;
  • to develop mechanisms and protocols for evaluating libraries;
  • to identify best practices in providing library service; and
  • to establish a library service quality assessment program at ARL.

Perkins Library participated in LibQUAL+™ in 2002, 2005 and implemented improvements suggested by the results of the study. In 2007 we again participated in LibQUAL+™ and we are analyzing the results. Documents related to the 2002, 2005, and 2007 surveys and results are below.
