About
I am the Head of Research Services at Perkins Library. I spend most of my time coordinating the Perkins Research Desk and Libraries’ instant messaging system, providing instruction to a wide variety of disciplines, and working on projects related to the user experience in the library. I am also a pre-major academic advisor. I changed careers a few years ago from technology project management to librarianship. I find that there is a surprising amount of overlap between the skills I used in my former positions and working in an academic library.

Background
Originally from Chicago, I moved to Carrboro after a stint in the Peace Corps in Poland (1991-1993), a Masters in Information and Communication Science from Ball State University in Muncie, IN and a Masters in Library Science from UNC-Chapel Hill.
