Posted by Tom Moore in : Uncategorized , trackbackPatricia Canovai has been at the Duke Music Library since 1993, overseeing the technical services aspects of the the library’s operation. She has also managed circulation, reserves, ILL & document delivery, overseen retrospective conversion of music scores, worked with inventorying and barcoding the collection, and helped the Music Library make the transition from the card catalog to our OPAC. After 15 years at Biddle, she is moving to Technical Services at Perkins/Bostock, where she will be working with monographic receipts and electronic resources management. Please join us in wishing her well in her new position at Duke.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work, Pat! I don’t know if you realize it, but the year you started at the Music Library was the year I began my doctorate. You are the only non-Oxford librarian who helped me through the entire doctoral process and even encouraged me on my interview days at Duke in 2001. Thank you for fifteen years of help with my degree, research and teaching. I’m very sorry to see you go. Our loss, your gain. Congratulations!

You will indeed be missed, Pat. I’m speaking for myself, of course, but I know that everyone has admired how supremely well you know the music library and how to use it and the wonderful style and grace with which you you have helped us find what we’ve been looking for!
