Perkins Library, Duke West Campus

Location of Event: Gothic Reading Room

Perkins Library is located in the heart of Duke's West Campus, at the intersection of the Academic and Chapel Quads. The Gothic Reading Room is located on the second floor of the library’s older section, and the physical address is 411 Chapel Drive, Durham, NC 27708.

NOTE: A limited number of parking spaces (40) have been reserved for this symposium on the main West Campus quad. The driving directions below will direct you to the main West Campus quad.

Any overflow parking will be directed to Parking Garage 4 near the Bryan Center, which is the nearest public parking. Some public parking is also available at the Science Drive Visitor Lot, across from the Fuqua School of Business: http://maps.duke.edu/embed.php?id=21&mrkId=2935

If you have mobility and access concerns, please contact us in advance of your visit.

Since parking can be difficult we encourage visitors to carpool or use public transportation if possible.

Driving Directions:

From Chapel Hill on NC 15-501

Via US. 15-501 North. Take 15-501 North, marked Duke Univ./Med Ctr. Do not take 15-501 Business. Take exit for N.C. 751 (#107) marked Duke University West Campus. Turn right onto N.C. 751 S.(Cameron Blvd.). At third traffic light (Duke University Rd.) take a left. Continue past Wannamaker Dr., Towerview Rd. and Edens Dr. (not marked) to Chapel Dr. Turn left on Chapel Dr. at large stone pillars. Continue to traffic circle and take circle around to where Chapel Dr. continues. The West Campus quad is straight ahead.

From Raleigh on I-40 West

Via I-40 West: Exit onto the Durham Freeway (N.C. 147). Take Durham Freeway to Chapel Hill St. Exit (#13). Turn right on Chapel Hill St. Continue straight on Chapel Hill St. until it turns into Duke University Rd. Cross Anderson St. to Chapel Dr. Turn right on Chapel Dr. at large stone pillars. Continue to traffic circle and take circle around to where Chapel Dr. continues. The West Campus quad is straight ahead.

From Greensboro on I-40 West and I-85 North

Via 1-85 North: Exit onto N.C. 147 (Durham Freeway). Take first exit off Durham Freeway onto 15-501 S. toward Chapel Hill. Stay in right lane, and take second exit (#107), marked Duke Univ. West Campus, to N.C. 751. Turn LEFT onto N.C. 751 S., and go under the freeway. At fourth traffic light (Duke University Rd.) take a left. Continue past Wannamaker Dr., Towerview Rd. and Edens Dr. (not marked) to Chapel Dr. Turn left onto Chapel Dr. at large stone pillars. Continue to traffic circle and take circle around to where Chapel Dr. continues. The West Campus quad is straight ahead.

From the North on I-85

Via I-85 South: In Durham, take the left-lane exit (#174B) for US 15-501 South Bypass - Duke University/Chapel Hill. Continue on U.S. 15-501 to the fourth exit (#107), marked Duke Univ. West Campus, a right-lane exit for N.C. 751. Turn LEFT onto N.C. 751 S., go under the freeway. At fourth traffic light (Duke University Rd.) take a left. Continue past Wannamaker Dr., Towerview Rd. and Edens Dr. (not marked) to Chapel Dr. Turn left onto Chapel Dr. at large stone pillars.
