  Special Order issued by S. P. Lee, Acting Rear Admiral, commanding Miss. Squadron. The order instructs Union soldiers to exercise vigilance in patrolling the Mississippi River, especially the lower portions, and "to prevent the carrying across of plunder and property in the hands of Jeff Davis and his Cabinet." The order was issued from the flag ship "Tempest," Mound City, Illinois.
