DescriptionP. 1 contains instructions for sending contributions to S. E. Peabody, Boston, for "The Fountain Land and Educational Fund", and includes testimonials on the character of William H. Thomas. Pages 2-4 include "Land and education: A practical method of industrial training for the freedmen" which outlines the plan to secure 12,000 acres in Camden County, North Carolina,...to be divided "into three hundred small farms, and three hundred tenants from among trustworthy industrious Negro families will be judiciously selected".
