Address delivered by James M. Gleason at Sons of Veterans encampment in GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) Hall, Marlborough, Mass., Apr. 11, 1901. Tells the story of how Co. I of the 13th Massachusetts Regiment took the bell from the Harpers Ferry Armory, associated with John Brown's raid, and hid it for years until after the Civil War ended. Eventually the bell made its way back to Marlborough.
