DescriptionFacsimile of an advertisement, circa 1870, for Dr. Culver's Celebrated Sun Light Oil. "M. Wagner & Co. are sole proprietors for the United States and Canadas. Sold only by their authorized agents. Costs but twenty cents per gallon to manufacture, and can be manufactured anywhere in the United States. This wonderful oil, which is about to take the place of kerosene and other burning fluids, is composed of materials which can be obtained in any country village. Can be made without the aid of machinery, by simply mixing the ingredients together. It has no offensive smell whatever, and is warranted to be non explosive."
