DescriptionLetter from N. G. Howard, dismissing as electioneering, charges from rivals against his bid to represent Rankin County in the Mississippi legislature. He refutes the charge that he wants to "carry the seat of government to Vicksburg", stating that he cannot predict what will happen in the Mississippi Constitutional Convention of 1832. He denies that he "...has no interest in the county", stating "I have lived in the county nearly three years...and for the past two years, I have been and am still a freeholder of the county."
