  Eight articles adopted for Weldon, N. C. by Mayor T. L. Emry, and Commissioners Sandy Speed, Wesley Harrison, E. Clark, and A. B. Pierce. The articles deal with fire prevention, "Sabbath-breaking", preventing nuisances such as frightening horses, public gambling, or bathing in the canal " in the sight of house occupied by females...", or collecting taxes, including poll tax and taxes for merchants.
