    Appeal for funds by the recently-formed Horner Monument Association, to erect a monument in the town of Oxford to honor the memory of the recently deceased James. W. Horner of Oxford. The letter is addressed to "you old boys...patrons...and to you teachers...to whose profession he brought honor and reward" for subscription funds to help erect the monument, and is signed by: "Geo T. Winston, President; J. Crawford Biggs, Sec'y and Treas." and by members of the Executive Committee: "F. P. Hobgood, Chm.; F. D. Winston; W. A. Dunn; W. G. Elliott; A. W. Haywood; Walter L. Holt; A. H. A. Williams; Richmond Pearson; W. W. Fuller; Frank Wood; D. Y. Cooper; G. H. Brown."
