    Fifty-dollar reward notice to "arrest and hold C. H. Lewis, white, for forgery in Asheville, N. C., on July 24th, 1891", signed by W. H. Deaver, Chief P. D. A., Asheville, N. C. Mr. Lewis "has blank checks on First National Bank of Morristown, Tenn.", and "will forge checks of $100 or $200"...then "go to some wholesale dealer...and buy goods to within $25 of his check", ask that the goods be shipped, then pocket the remainder in money.
