DescriptionLetter from Pastor H. G. Hill warning his congregation at the Maxton Presbyterian Church of the evils of "the public ball and round dance", urging them to "shun these worldly amusements..." as they "impair the health, sully the purity of womanhood, and incite young men to dissipation and mid-night revelry." Also listed at the end of the letter are: "Members of Session: D. McBryde, J. C. McCaskill, A. A. McLean, M. G. McKenzie, John D. Austin, W. J. Currie."
