Description1904 political cartoon by F. A. Hull depicting Judge Francis D. Winston, who is white, riding in a horse-drawn carriage with Hon. George H. White, who is Black, and stereotypically portrayed as a flashy-dressing, cigar-smoking, blinged-out fat cat. Shown attached to the carriage is "Judge Winston's letter", dated 1890, which solicits White's political support by requesting that he put in a good word for Winston at the Judicial Convention. The foreground displays the sign: "A sample of Democratic white supremacy in North Carolina. Judge Winston's dream of riding the district with George H. White, the Negro of 'inflooence'."
