Greenville, S.C. Cotton Mill of F. W. Poe Mfg. Co., [prior to May 1909] "Cotton Mill of F. W. Poe Mfg. Co. This is one of the largest and finest cotton mills in the South. [It?] is equipped throughout with all the latest improved machinery [?] for making fine cotton fabrics. The main building is an eighth [?] of a mile long by more than a hundreed feet wide, with four stories and basement. The mill was started in operation Jan. 1897 with 10,000 spindles and 304 looms, and contains now about 60,000 spindles and 1500 looms. The plant cost about $;1,000,000."
