The films and videos described on this site are part of the University Archives. After transfer to modern media, they are available for use according to the rules and regulations listed below.
- Viewing the footage must be scheduled in advance with the University Archives. We do not have viewing copies of every game, and due to the condition of the film, not every game is viewable. To inquire about a viewing call 919-660-5822 or send an email to uarchives@notes.duke.edu.
- VHS videocassette or DVD copies of most games can be ordered for personal and educational use only. However, due to marketing and licensing concerns, we do not make copies of NCAA tournament games. Contact us for a price quote before you submit an order. Our order form is available here (requires Adobe Acrobat reader, available at no cost). Turnaround time depends on the condition of the original film and whether or not we have a viewing copy.
- All films and video are made available under the fair and educational use provisions of U.S. Copyright law. Other uses, including commercial use or broadcast (including webcast), must be approved by the Duke Sports Information Office, and in some cases, other licensing concerns.
- If inquiring about getting a copy of a film, please include the sport, the opponent, and the date.
PLEASE NOTE: The films are not TV broadcasts, and they do not include audio. They do not generally show player close-ups or replays. Some films were cut and spliced, so the footage may not show the complete game or be in the order the game was played.
