Typescript of memoir, pages 20-22. Alice M. Baldwin, the founding dean of the Woman's College, describes her experience as part of the building committee. Dr. Few asked her to study the best plans for the dining-rooms and dormitories. Baldwin suggested that Dr. Brown contact an oculist to assess the lighting in the dining hall and libraries. Brown refused and many changes had to be made later. Baldwin also discusses measures taken to ensure the safety of the girls on East Campus.
