Notes on the Street 'Homage to Myrtle Avenue'

Horizontal movement, the flow of commerce, path of goods and people

Atmosphere: the change of light from left to right (east to west), reflected light, the pattern of light, rain, snow storm - Turner

Full length figure: all people appear at a distance, the face becomes unimportant, the overall gesture of the figure; silhouette, the figure always appears in relation to the background or frame of the composition. Japanese prints - Bruegel (snow scene, large scene; scale the same)

Chance relationship: the interrelation of strangers, beings unaware of their relationship to one another (example: the people on the elevated unaware of the man standing on the curb of the street, yet both appear with in the frame of the camera, both exist in the same space and time)
