J. Campbell speaks of the coming of the small fast chariot and horse power which created the "peasant afoot and noblemen a horse" which in turn the machine age has killed after 4 thousand years. Yet the separation still exists in India with automobiles. Only the well-to-do can afford to maintain a car. There are few cars in relation to the population. And for the masses of "peasants" to even think of owning a car is out of the question. Autos are respected as symbols of wealth and are a clear separation between those who wield power and those who are powerless.
