home - late, 12:00 have to wake up landlord to get in - feel sick, tired.

May 1, Fri

Sleep fitfully but it is cool and no mosquitoes wake at 4:30 assistant comes at 5:15, I have to tell him I cannot work - I feel worse diarrhea continues stomach pain - back to sleep till 8:30 after horlicks and oranges. sleep most of the morning, manage to bicycle to Lanka to La bela for lunch, very hot outside sleep in afternoon, to movie with Mary Etta in evening, to Berus for milk meet Ram, send her home in rickshaw, she insists I take the number, I can make out most of the hindi numbers - but forget it almost immediately - home bed.

May 2, Sat

Assistant comes at 9:00 - I do not feel like working. back to bed, read in late morning sleep - to Blue Fox lunch, shopping it is hot
