for secnd time today meet Mr. Pashka Nath arrange to come tomorrow at 11:00 - home, kids are becoming pests at door - I made a mistake photograph too close to home - to movie "A Man of All Seasons" well made bore - preaching over ground well covered. home - sleep on roof - ass. does not come for instruction.

May 8 Fri

Ass. comes at 5:00 AM, I tell him no work today he demands money - I go back to the roof for another hour - then to room sleep till 8:30 Mrs. Singh awakens me with a cup of tea pleasant way to start the day - go to Visanagram Palace at 11:00 photograph, lunch at Cindy, home photo wedding dance - sleep an hour. Shopping - home to see Ass. and Berus, David and Ram are there - home bed.

May 9 Sat

Up late, downstairs sleep some more, read, go out for a shave. eat go to university at 1:30 to see engravings of course man who has key does not show up till 3:00, engravings form Princept book, and some large views of Benares, some are very nice, will photograph them later, they purchased these in London in January of this year. They have about 20. back to Cindy hotel for lassi - very hot out. home assistant comes I pay him. bath rest - David comes - we leave for Ram's concert - It is not very stimulating, the accoustics are bad as usual, with badly placed speakers. So for most of the concert I get 3/4 of the sound from the right side - his style of playing is interesting very quiet, refined, controlled, subtle. If this is a good sample of his style, he'll never appeal to the mass crowd. But his playing did not reach me it lacked something, tonight may be just an off night for him - David says he doesn't prachio too much and he was playing on a borrowed Sitar. Home late 11:30 Singhs are waiting up for me we all sleep on the roof.
