Up late 7:00 drugged, old worse - cooler today saw Ram at tea show, he said I look bad. - Ass. arrives at 11:00 I say no work for couple days. Look at Labela - though ride in hot is not fun photograph athletics at wedding celebration and weight lifting - make supremacy rites - trouble with a couple of drunks demanding money - see Chundramoni at Museum then to Indology library they are closed - then to central library receive royal treatment they are most kind and helpful - get some material on Holi - homeward bound talk with rickshaw waller along way he speaks English somewhat, crafty, wheelerdealer type money exchange, buy camera, prostitutes etc. Stop in Lanka at landlords shop - home lassi at Berus - tired try to rest will sleep downstairs tonight becase of cold in chest. - Mr. Singh comes at 10:00 we go to Dal-munday to Moslan festival sit on a ledge overlooking the procession route. It consists of singing groups who march a few yards and then stop and sing for 5 min. or so.

Moslem man supposed to come this morning never shows - tired, cold worse, out at 11. Errands, shave, photograph pipe being rolled through lane, wedding dance by women at Dassemeth home, lunch, tea shop - photo, at 5:00 to Dr. R - was invited to dinner, arrive - just get tea for an hour no dinner, dismissed - dull conversation, never [illegible] - anything, all surface, no exchange. Tea shop - home tired, ass. comes I hope to work tomorrow night with tripod.

Rest most of day go to La bella's for dinner at 6:00 pm - home sleep - ass. comes at 11:30, we start on night work, as we go along ghats toward assi - a man I have photographed tells us there
