We arrive, thousands of people bright lights. Well organized we plunge into mass. It is nearing the end of the performance, a huge monster of paper covered frame is about to be destroyed by Vishnu in the form of a lion. Just as I get ready to photograph, a man grabs my camera shouting - not photography he is loud and rude - the climax of the play has been reached - the crowd bursts with emotion, pushing mob. I try to get around to other side but the view once there is not good and I am at the end of my roll just as some action occurs - the whole thing doesn't come off for me. - It is amazing that all these events are happening and few know about them. If I had known in advance I could have prepared, got permission, etc. rest of night goes
