Opened in 1835 from Fulton St. to Cripplebush Road. In 1839 extended to Division Ave (present Broadway). In 1854 the Myrtle Ave and Jamaica Plank Road was opened January 1st 5 1/2 miles in length from Broadway to the Jamaica Plank Road - Arm. p 246-251

"Myrtle avenue was awake to-day. An iron horse puffing with four heavy cars behind it pushed its way through that artery of trade. This pioneer train of the Union Elevated Road carried officers and directors of the company and invited guests.

It started shortly after 11 o'clock from the long City Hall station on Adams street and rounding the curve into Myrtle avenue thundered along up the avenue at a brisk rate. The station
