Next follows a sketch of the organization of the Union company etc. extracts related to Myrtle Ave. below:

Commission organized March 19, 1886

Preliminary work and report made Mrch 31.

Subscriptions taken and the Union Elevated Railroad Company formed with a capital stock of $1,000,000.

Roadway surveyed and a map filed with the commissioner of City works January 7, 1887

Failed to obtain consents from a majority of the property owners on my street so an application was made to the General Term Supreme Court in August 1886 for a commission to decide.

Withdrew application for fear of decision against, and tried again without success to get landowners to consent.

September the application was renewed and the commission was appointed and

reported in favor of building the road.

Confirmed by the Supreme Court in Dec 1886.

Contracts were made with Cooper, Hewitt + Co. for the iron for the Myrtle ave route.

Foundations begun in April 1887 and completed during the year.

Iron delivery began in June.

The work of erecting the structure on Myrtle ave was begun May 23, 1887.
