There is another group of street paintings from 1926 cat 846 thru 854, 9 paintings; two are reproduced in the Grohmann book p 102-103. They are in a totally different style and not very good.

But since an artist can feel sincere without convincing others, the bulk of expressionist art registers as a routine of agony as automatic as the 18th-century routine of charm. p 744

"Without emotion, or feeling, there is no living art, only craft. Then what is conscious, what is feeling, in art? ...

Feeling is imagination, the invention of ways of forming, the invention of objectives, the application of known laws in a certain direction - everything, all else remaining in the work of art, which is not explainable by the intellect." p 31 Gordon - Kirchner

"The human form is the center of all art, for its form and proportions are the basic and starting-point for all perception." p 30 Kirchner
