DescriptionCaricature of Nathan Meyer Rothschild (1777-1836) as a dog scavenging gold pieces on the battlefield of Waterloo. Nathan Meyer Rothschild, a Jew and member of the British House of Lords, was a member of the prominent Rothschild family of Jewish financiers that became easy targets for anti-semitic outrage during the Dreyfus Affair even though they had little or no direct involvement.
