Biographical Note
Originally from McLeansville, NC, William Porter Kellam came to Trinity College in 1922. He was on the varsity track team his first year and served as library assistant in his third and fourth years, and as assistant in French in his third. He also belonged to the French club. He graduated in 1926 with a degree in French.

Contains autograph pages, news clippings, correspondence, programs and memorabilia from music, theater and commencement events. Also contains photographs of campus scenes, the track, basketball and football teams, the University of Richmond [VA], and many snapshots of Trinity football games. The scrapbook ranges in date from 1922 to 1926.

Scrapbook, 1922-1926
This scrapbook contains autograph pages, correspondence, photographs, clippings, and memorabilia from Kellam's time at Trinity College/Duke University from 1922 to 1926. Most of the photographs are identified. The major subjects of the photographs are as follows:
Trinity and Duke Athletics, including snapshots of baseball players (Duke), basketball players (Trinity), and track and football action shots
1926 commencement, including the class mascot (a bull painted on a brick wall)
Campus Buildings, including the Trinity Library, Alspaugh, Duke gymnasium, Lanier and Branson Halls, the home of Professor Aldridge, Epworth Inn, Aycock, Craven, and East Duke
University of Richmond campus
Eno River
Kellam's memorabilia includes programs from YMCA musical events, Taurian Players shows, May Day and Tombs Initiation events, as well as remnants from the 1926 Senior Banquet (menu, tissue-paper flower, and hat). The scrapbook also includes programs from Watts Hospital-Trinity School of Nurses commencement exercises. The news clippings are primarily of Trinity sports events and of the building plans for Duke University. Also includes badges from Kellam's 25th and 26th reunions at Duke.
