Liberty And Union Forever Rhode Island Volunteer.

Hurrah! for our braves of Rhode Island,
To their flag they are always so true.
Hurrah! for Sprague and his Generals,
Three cheers for the Red, White and Blue.

In armies of mighty batillions,
Our true sons are marching so brave,
They are marching to crush out rebellion,
They are fighting their country to save.
They are fighting their country to save.
They are fighting their country to save.
They are marching to crush out rebellion,
They are fighting their country to save.

Brave Burnside, Towers and Slocum,
Our hearts would forever upbraid.
Should we falter while fighting for freedom,
In the ranks of the Struges’ Brigade,
Far away on the Hills of Rhode Island,
Is the lands of our fathers so true,
We love them with heartfelt devotion,
While we fight for the Red, White & Blue.

At Bull’s Run our sons fought so bravely,
So nobly their Sprague led them on.
May the wreath they have won never wither,
Nor the stars of their glory grow dim.
We have sons in the land of the rebels,
Our banner is proudly displayed,
On the battle field full of great danger,
It waves o’er the Sturges’ Brigade.

Like Burnside’s brave soldiers undaunted,
May it now and forever be said,
That none but brave hearts are wanted
In the ranks of the Sturges’ Brigade.
They fear not the loud cannon’s rattle,
Their foes they are sure to subdue.
As bravely they march on to battle,
Upholding the Red, White and Blue.
