The Very Latest From Butler.

The Very latest Form Butler.

Some General love the battle’s roar,
And laurels red and gory;
The trumpet’s strain, the ensanguined plain,
And dream of fame and glory.
But I more wise, love sunny skies,
And make war in a General Order,
By my wisdom and care, I could govern the fair
From the Gulf to the States of the Border,
Then hurra brave boys,
For the Southern skies;
Be true to your flag and your duty,
The pleasures be mine,
Of a full cup of wine,
And huzza boys for Booty and Beauty!

Ye Yankees who at home at ease
Inglorious still have tarried,
And watched with trembling hearts and knees
How all Mac’s schemes miscarried.
Come join me here, there’s nought to fear,
I make war in a General Order;
You shall have your share, of the plunder fair,
From the Gulf to the States of the Border;
Then hurra brave boys,
For the Southern skies,
Be true to your flag and your duty,
The pleasures are mine
Of a full cup of wine.
And huzza boys for Beauty and Booty.
