The Selma to Montgomery Civil Rights March, 1965
In a 1999 review of a Karales show*, Vicki Goldberg wrote that this powerful image became an icon of the Civil Rights Movement when it was used in the "Eyes on the Prize" documentary. She also noted that the other work in that 1999 exhibit, as in this 2005 exhibit, clearly demonstrated that James Karales was an artist with more than one great picture in him. * Vickie Goldberg, "Beyond a Famous Shot, The Art of a Lifetime."
