North Americans receive little information about Caribbean migration but even less about parallel phenomena in other world regions. In Oceania, the Horn of Africa and the Maghreb migrants build fragile vessels or risk their lives with smugglers to cross short, dangerous stretches of water trying to reach Australia, Yemen and Europe respectively. People continue arriving in each of these areas.
