Greta Boers coordinates Duke Libraries’ outreach to first-year students, emphasizing research skills that will serve them throughout their college career and beyond. Her interests include library skills assessment; the place of library skills development in the college curriculum; and the impact these research competencies have on creativity in scholarship. Before coming to Duke in December of 2002, Greta worked at Emory University’s R. W. Woodruff Library for 20 years, most recently as the Anthropology Librarian.

Lauren Crowell manages operational and facility concerns for the Lilly Library and serves as the contact for building issues. A true steward for the library work environment, Lauren was presented with the inaugural "Recycler of the Year" award from the university. She also handles circulation problems and reconciling fines incurred at Lilly. Within the Perkins Library system, Lauren has been a member of the Support Staff Council and was recognized for her service as a member of the Career Paths Task Force. Lauren has been with Lilly Library since 1997.

Purvis Daye is in charge of maintaining the physical appearance of the interior of the Lilly Library. His special attention to its furnishings and art objects is one of the reasons that Lilly is such a beautiful environment. Purvis has been with Lilly Library for over 15 years.

Carson Holloway is a Reference Librarian at Lilly Library and Perkins Library, and he also serves on the Faculty of the School of Library and Information Sciences at North Carolina Central University. Carson began his library career with Duke University Libraries as an intern in the Documents Department in Perkins and returned in 2002.

In June of 2003, Kelley Lawton was named as the Head of Lilly Library. Prior to being named as Head Librarian, Kelley served as Head of Lilly Reference. Kelley collects and maintains Lilly's general reference collection, Lilly's current literature collection, and also serves as the subject librarian for United States History at Duke Libraries. Kelley teaches first-year bibliographic instruction at Lilly and serves on the Publications Committee in the ALA's Library Instruction Round Table. She has served as president of the Durham County Library Association. Kelley started with Duke Libraries as an intern in 1992 and has been with Lilly Library for her professional career.

Already experienced in managing evening library services at Lilly Library, and previously serving as the Reserves Coordinator at Lilly, Dave began working in Duke Libraries in 1999.

Danette Pachtner joined Lilly Library as subject librarian for film, video, and multimedia after a two-year stint in the Reference Department at Perkins Library. She is responsible for Duke Libraries' collections in film and video in all formats as well as secondary print resources supporting the film and video collection.

Art Librarian Lee Sorensen is responsible for Duke Libraries' collections in the fine and performing arts. Lee collects for art, sculpture, architecture, dance, photography, and museum studies. His professional memberships include the Art Libraries Society of North America, the Art History Webmasters Association, and the College Art Association. Lee joined Lilly Library in the fall of 1990.

As the Collections Services Manager at Lilly, Carol Terry is responsible for the administration of Lilly Library’s periodical collection and the post-cataloging maintenance of the monographic and serial collections, in addition to Public Services. Carol serves as a resource for our staff in the interpretation of catalog and acquisitions records, and as the liaison with Collections Services in Perkins-Bostock Library. At Lilly Library since 1984, Carol is often referred to as the "historian" on staff.

Serving as head of circulation and access services at Lilly, Yunyi Wang manages Lilly Library's circulation operations and stack maintenance. Yunyi also supervises Lilly's student employees; students interested in working at Lilly should contact her for an employment application. Patrons may contact Yunyi regarding questions about Lilly circulation policies, requests for recalls and searches, and applications for a Duke library card. Yunyi has been with Lilly Library since 1995, previously working at Perkins Library for five years.

AV specialist Ken Wetherington manages Lilly Library's media concerns, including maintenance of the in-house audiovisual equipment. Faculty members interested in placing films on reserve should contact Ken or use the library's online form. In addition, Ken oversees the status of reserves at Lilly Library. Faculty and staff should contact Ken when they need to place materials on reserve or have questions about existing reserves. Ken previously worked at the Duke Law Library and UNC's Davis Library.
