Tablature in Microform: Introduction

Within each category, titles are arranged by "main entry" or title (whatever appears on the first line of the catalog record). These are a mixture of manuscript and printed sources. Some microfilms appear more than once, if they contain a mixture of types, e.g., songs with lute accompaniment and dances for lute. By using the Find function of your WWW browser you can search for particular manuscript numbers, RISM numbers, etc.

N.B. Special characters have been used for diacritics (e.g., umlaut). Not all browsers display these characters correctly (The following character should be umlaut "u": ü). If you find typographical errors outside of this display problem, please send corrections to Lois Schultz
