A Historian Turns to Fiction--Professor Simon Partner Talks About His Novel-In-Progress

At 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, 29 January,Simon Partner, an associate professor of history at Duke, will speak about writing "The Story of Haruko," his novel-in-progress, which is set in early 20th century Japan. Partner, who has taught the writing of historical narratives since 1999, felt that he could become a better teacher if he wrote a historical novel himself. Perkins Library, Rare Book Room. Sponsored by the Friends of the Duke University Libraries as a part of their Engaging Faculty Series. Limited parking has been reserved for this event on the quad in front of the Chapel.
