At 4pm on Wednesday, 9 February, in the Rare Book Room at Perkins Library, Susan Ware will discuss Notable American Women: A Biographical Dictionary: Completing the 20th Century, the fifth volume of a groundbreaking work in women's history. In this latest volume there are entries for almost five hundred women, including stars of the golden age of radio, film, dance, and television; Native American craftswomen; activists; scientists; and religious leaders. The talk, which is sponsored by the Duke Libraries' Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture, the Department of History, Women's Studies, and the Gothic Bookshop, will be followed by a signing and reception.
