On Friday, 25 February, at 7:30 p.m. in the Perkins Library Rare Book Room, Richard Rhodes will discuss his new book, *John James Aubudon: The Making of an American.* In the book Rhodes offers insights into Audubon's ability to infuse his depictions of birds with life and emotion. The Rare Book, Manuscript, and Special Collections Library's double elephant folio edition of Audubon's *Birds of America* will be on display. Richard Rhodes is the author of twenty books and the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for *The Making of the Atomic Bomb.* Co-sponsored by the Duke University Libraries and the Gothic Bookshop.
