Starting at 6pm on Wednesday, 24 August 2005, the fire alarm system serving Perkins Library will be taken off-line in order to install the system that will serve both the Perkins and Bostock buildings. Testing of the system will continue into the day on Thursday, 25 August. DURING THE TESTING PERIOD,PLEASE DISREGARD FIRE ALARM SIGNALS AND FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE OUTLINED BELOW.
If you observe a fire emergency:
Dial Duke Safety at 911 or 684-2444.
Immediately evacuate the building.
During the testing, Watson Electric personnel will patrol the building to watch for fires. In the event of an emergency, the monitor will sound 3 short air horn blasts. Evacuate the building immediately if you hear the 3 short air horn blasts.
Follow the above procedures until notified that the Perkins fire alarm system is back online.
