Erich Jarvis discusses his award-winning research on 3 November at Perkins Library

�Brain Mechanisms of Vocal Learning in Songbirds and Humans,� will be Erich Jarvis�s topic when he discusses his award-winning research on the neurobiology of vocal communication at Duke's Perkins Library in the Rare Book Room. Jarvis, an associate professor of neurobiology at Duke, is a 2005 winner of a National Institutes of Health Director's Pioneer Award; on 18 October 2005 he was the subject of a profile on PBS's "Nova." Read more about Jarvis and his work in the Duke Magazine. Jarvis's talk is part of the Engaging Faculty Series, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Duke University Libraries.
