ï¿½Brain Mechanisms of Vocal Learning in Songbirds and Humans,ï¿½ will be Erich Jarvisï¿½s topic when he discusses his award-winning research on the neurobiology of vocal communication at Duke's Perkins Library in the Rare Book Room. Jarvis, an associate professor of neurobiology at Duke, is a 2005 winner of a National Institutes of Health Director's Pioneer Award; on 18 October 2005 he was the subject of a profile on PBS's "Nova."
