The Duke University Libraries will dedicate two new additions to Perkins Library on Friday 11 November 2005 with several programs, a reception, and tours. All events are free and open to everyone. Panel discussions are scheduled for 10:00am and 1:00pm. The morning program focuses on "Scholarship in a Digital Age"; the topic of the afternoon session is "Learning Places--The Library in the Academic Community." At 3:00pm Princeton historian Robert Darnton will deliver the keynote address, which is titled "Old Books and E-Books." There will also be remarks by Deborah Jakubs, Rita DiGiallonardo University Librarian and vice provost for library affairs, Provost Peter Lange, and President Richard H. Brodhead.
