Online Catalog Maintenance Postponed

The scheduled maintenance to add new disk arrays on both the production and failover Online Catalog servers will not be completed this week as originally planned. Unforeseen incompatibilities with existing server volume management software and array management software have forced a delay in completing the installation. The necessary software upgrade is in the process of being purchased for immediate delivery and installation. Once this upgrade is completed and tested, engineers will return to complete the installation of the disk arrays. Library Information Systems Support does not yet have a timetable for the completion of the hardware installation.

Access to the production servers will not be interrupted tomorrow evening as previously scheduled. Staff and patrons will have normal access to Duke Online Catalog services.

The library will provide updated information to staff and patrons (via the library web site) once the maintenance has been rescheduled.
