WHAT: Conversations with a Coffee Grower, a Fair Trade
Certifier, and a Coffee Roaster

The grower, Aldea Global Coop, was founded in 1992 by 22 indigenous farmers in the mountainous region of northern Nicaragua. Today the association's 524 members focus on expanding their cooperative by promoting efficient commercialization, solidarity and alternative credit services, while maintaining their dedication to the environment.
The certifier, Transfair, USA, is the only third-party certifier of fair trade products in the U.S.
The roaster, Counter Culture Coffee, was recognized as one of the top three roasters in the U.S. in "An Obsessive's Guide to Coffee," a special report in *Food and Wine Magazine*.
