"The Swamp" at Duke

Environmental reporter to discuss book about the Everglades

On Thursday, 28 September, at 4:50pm (yes, 4:50pm), Washington Post environmental reporter Michael Grunwald will speak at the Love Auditorium in the Levine Science Research Center about his critically acclaimed book, The Swamp: The Everglades, Florida and the Politics of Paradise. Q&A and a reception will follow the talk, which is sponsored by the Nicholas School's Office of the Dean.

The Swamp tells the story of the political and environmental conflicts involved in the unprecedented $8 million effort to restore south Florida's dying 3-million acre "River of Grass," which once blanketed the peninsula south of Lake Okeechobee.
