"Not Quite 88"

Demonstration and discussion of early pianos

Deborah Hollis will discuss early pianos at 4pm on Friday, 17 November, in the Rare Book Room at Duke's Perkins Library.  Ms. Hollis will also play selections from the works of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven on an 1802 Viennese square piano by Katholnik.  The program, "Not Quite 88," is part of the monthly Rare Music series co-sponsored by the Duke University Musical Instruments Collections and the Duke University Libraries.  A reception will follow the program, which will last about an hour.  Young piano enthusiasts are welcome to attend, too!

Limited parking is available on the quad in front of the Chapel on a first-come, first-served basis.  Mention the Rare Music event at the library to the attendant.
