Featuring the 5-string cello
Friday, 23 March, 4pm, Perkins Library Rare Book Room
“4+1: The 5-String Cello,” with Brenda Neece, curator of the Duke University Musical Instrument Collections (DUMIC).  Come to hear music written for the 5-string cello from Bach's day to ours and discuss fact, fiction, and speculation about the instrument, as Neece pieces together its more than 300-year history.  A reception will follow the program, which is co-sponsored by the Duke University Libraries and DUMIC.  Reception following the program.  Park free on the quad in front of the Duke Chapel for this event.
